The History Behind Halloween! â¨đ October 31st - November 1st Samhain (pronounced âSOW-inâ or âSAH-winâ) celebrates the midway point between the autumn equinoxđ(the harvest) and the winter solsticeđŹ. In other words, Samhain signifies the light's end đ and the darkness's welcoming (the colder monthsâď¸). This period is also when the veil between both the physical and non-physical world is believed to be the thinnest. This thinning of the veil allows for a deeper connection with spiritual ancestors along with all other spirits explaining the spookyđť dynamic of Halloween. đFurther, the tradition of carving jack-o-lanternsđ on Halloween actually stems from the Celtic tradition of carving faces into root vegetablesđĽduring the early era as a form of protection over their homesđ warding off any entities and spirits who were considered unwelcome.
Have a Magickal Samhain/Halloween!đŤ
