The History Behind Halloween!šŸŽƒ

The History Behind Halloween! āœØšŸŽƒ October 31st - November 1st Samhain (pronounced ā€œSOW-inā€ or ā€œSAH-winā€) celebrates the midway point between the autumn equinoxšŸ(the harvest) and the winter solstice🌬. In other words, Samhain signifies the light's end šŸŒž and the darkness's welcoming (the colder monthsā„ļø). This period is also when the veil between both the physical and non-physical world is believed to be the thinnest. This thinning of the veil allows for a deeper connection with spiritual ancestors along with all other spirits explaining the spookyšŸ‘» dynamic of Halloween. šŸŽƒFurther, the tradition of carving jack-o-lanternsšŸŽƒ on Halloween actually stems from the Celtic tradition of carving faces into root vegetablesšŸ„”during the early era as a form of protection over their homesšŸ›– warding off any entities and spirits who were considered unwelcome.
