The History Behind Halloween!🎃

The History Behind Halloween! ✨🎃 October 31st - November 1st Samhain (pronounced “SOW-in” or “SAH-win”) celebrates the midway point between the autumn equinox🍁(the harvest) and the winter solstice🌬. In other words, Samhain signifies the light's end 🌞 and the darkness's welcoming (the colder months❄️). This period is also when the veil between both the physical and non-physical world is believed to be the thinnest. This thinning of the veil allows for a deeper connection with spiritual ancestors along with all other spirits explaining the spooky👻 dynamic of Halloween. 🎃Further, the tradition of carving jack-o-lanterns🎃 on Halloween actually stems from the Celtic tradition of carving faces into root vegetables🥔during the early era as a form of protection over their homes🛖 warding off any entities and spirits who were considered unwelcome.

Have a Magickal Samhain/Halloween!💫
